B2B Supports Partner Evaluation for Top Afghanistan Job!

Posted on August 24, 2011

The UK Ministry of Defence organisation – Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) has announced that KBR will be awarded the upwards of £150 million contract to provide infrastructure support to operations in Afghanistan following a competition involving five major companies or joint ventures. The B2B team designed and delivered an innovative partner evaluation process using its Soft Issues Assessment Centre (SIAC) approach. The management, team-working and collaboration capabilities to provide infrastructure support in the challenging environment of Camp Bastion and the wider Helmand Province of Afghanistan were fully tested in the realistic simulation and team evaluation process originally developed by members of the B2B team.

John Doyle (Director at B2B) commented; ‘although our team members have supported partner evaluation in some of the UKs highest value and highest profile competitions, developing the management, leadership and team work competences for this competition was particularly challenging given the need to reflect the operating environment within Afghanistan’.

A case study on this project will be published in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Journal in autumn 2011.

The Ministry of Defence procured B2B through a Framework contract with the (UK) Government Procurement Service held by the Quatrosystem consortium of which B2B is a member. For further information visit Our Partners page on the web.
